I focus on making complex legal situations understandable. My approach is clear, structured, and solution-oriented — and when an agreement is not possible, I advocate firmly in court. Every case starts with understanding the facts, defining priorities, and choosing the approach that offers the most protection for the client’s interests.

What clients typically need:

  • Clarity about their legal situation, rights, and realistic options
  • A structured strategy with defined priorities and next steps
  • Protection of their children’s interests throughout the process

Bilingual advice

For US Expats & English-Speaking Clients

If you married in the United States but live in Austria — or if you are facing a custody dispute with an international dimension — jurisdiction questions and procedural differences can be confusing. I advise English-speaking clients through every stage: from explaining how Austrian family courts work to coordinating with legal counsel abroad when a case crosses borders. Communication is bilingual, and I translate Austrian legal concepts into terms you can act on.

Quick reference: Obsorge = custody · Kontaktrecht = contact rights

Questions and answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you admitted to practice law in Austria?

Yes. I am admitted to the Vienna Bar (Rechtsanwaltskammer Wien) and authorised to represent clients before all Austrian courts.

Do you work with English-speaking clients and US citizens?

I do. I advise in both German and English and am listed on the US Embassy Vienna’s Legal Assistance page as a resource for American nationals.

What is the difference between Obsorge and Kontaktrecht?

Obsorge (custody) determines who makes key decisions about a child’s life — residence, education, health. Kontaktrecht (contact rights) governs how much time a child spends with the parent they do not primarily live with, including schedules and logistics.

Do I need to go to court, or is an agreement possible?

Many family law matters can be resolved through negotiation and a written agreement. Where that is not realistic — or where one side is not acting in good faith — I represent clients in court proceedings with a clear strategy.

What should I prepare for an initial consultation?

A brief timeline of your situation and any documents you already have: prenuptial agreement, financial records, prior correspondence, court orders. If you are unsure what is relevant, I will guide you through it in our first meeting.
